Alex. I don't want to do this either but i'm being obiedient so suck it up and do the same all right?
Hey...Leave Layne and I out of this. Not everone needs to know your opnion on how Layne and I "handled ourselfs" We were faithful in what was asked of us and God honored that.
See you tomorrow...
Alex,
I can tell you from 1st hand experiance that parents know what they are talking about. It may not seem like it at the ime but when you look back you will thank them. Siblings are not always the best example to follw but sometimes they are, people are different and sometimes different boundries are setup for them based on thier responsibility level and so on. Call me or e-mail me...I would like to talk to you about this more. Dont blow me off.
Jeremy
Alex,
Aren't you happy it's not me that has to go with you, not that i would go.
Alex, you need to protect her honor & by having someone with you it keeps you guys clean. You might not like it you think you need someone there, but trust me after a while you will. It was the times when I had no accountablity & a little brother staring at me that I got a little to close. Wink. Keep it clean & always protect her honor. There are tons of things to do with friends. Come hang out at my house. When you get out of school of course.
Hey.. I remember being where you are right now, not too long ago. :) At the time it seemed like it was the worst thing in the world. I knew we needed to avoid the appearance of evil, but I just thought everyone should trust us!! :) Looking back, I am sooooooooooo thankful that Jeremy's parents were as "strict" (I am not sure if that is even the right word to use.) as they were. I recently got to see two Christian families who have teenagers/young adults that are dating. Their parents are pretty relaxed when it come to them being together alone. (Which is totally fine, I am not here to say they are parenting wrong or they should do anything different.) But, I noticed things slide in their relationship that Jeremy and I were held accountable for. I am so thankful and blessed that his parents were a part of our dating or courtship like they were. At the time, I would not have told anyone that. :) But, after it was all over I couldn't thank them enough for the part they played in helping to keep us stay accountable. Right now, it might not seem like anyone knows what they are talking about, (If we were all honest, we probably all thought that at the time.) but your parents are doing what they think is best for you. It's all worth it. If you need anyone to be a part of your "group" to hang out with Mariah, Jeremy and I are here if you want and your parents say it's okay. :)
We miss you and can't wait to see you next week!!!!
Oh and we got an apple computer.
It is important for there to be somne clarification about Sara and Layne during the time of there courtship. They honored Larry and I in everything that we asked them to do. It is not easy to be 18, 19, 20 and going by a completly different set of quidlines for dating than most everyone around you. I am very proud of Layne and Sara The way that they sumbited themselves to us and honored us has followed them into there marriage. And there desire to honor the Lord in there life will follow them forever. Alex is also someone that I am very proud of. He to loves the Lord and desires to honor Him with his life. He has submitted to us as his parents and done everything we have ever asked him to do. He is an honorable person. I think he is absolutly wonderful and I hope he knows that. New situations, new seasons will bring with them questions. Questions result in the desire for answers or reasons if you will. Wouldn't life be great if we always got our reasons given to us. When we look through the Bible we see that not very often does God give reasons for the things He asks us to do. That would be great but then there would be no faith or trust required on our part. Then we get to choose whether or not we want to comply based on if we like the benefit that it will bring to us. And that is the way it is in courtship. You have to trust someone else who has seen the road you are about to travel on and believe that they want you to have the very best. I believe that is what we now call covering your back.
How come I didnt hear from you?
Jeremy
